Behrouz Razavi
Behrouz Razavi was a voice of Iranian radio for more than fifty years, a presenter and narrator born in 1947 who began as a radio announcer in 1968 and read, among much else, the documentary series on Iran's history. He also wrote lyrics, including the words of Kavir-e Del for Marjan, and acted in film and television. He died in Karaj in June 2026.
On the radio he worked beside the poet Mehdi Akhavan Saless, and his voice carried the Iran documentary collection and, late in life, audiobooks. On screen he acted in Abadaniha in 1992 and Radd-e Pa bar Shen in 1987, and in the 1980s he worked in theatre with Mehran Modiri. The lyrics are a small shelf beside all that, three or four songs, two of them for Marjan. His sister was the actress Atefeh Razavi.
